On Saturday January 5th GETheatre’s teaching artist team met with 25 teachers from the Parikrma Humanity Foundation. Â In just one afternoon we explored using drama in a variety of ways in the classroom. Â Teachers used drama to examine their own teaching practice and brainstormed ways to implement drama across the curriculum to enhance students’ experience in all subjects. Â It was a very fruitful session in which all the teachers fully contributed and explored many new ideas.
In addition to examining their own classrooms, teachers created images of the protests in Delhi surrounding the lack of women’s safety across India. Â It was a powerful moment which allowed teachers to see how they could discuss and unpack sensitive topics with their classes.
